![]() No matter which of the three taps on the Hammond OT was connected, 4, 8, or 16, the impedance would have been correct or only off by a 100% mismatch which would not make a Bandmaster sound bad or out of character. If you tried it through a pair of Celestion G12M25 Greenbacks I would say maybe you didn't hear the true sound of the amp. Speaker preference is personal, but I consider the blue in particular and the H30 to a fair degree to be pretty neutral sounding guitar speakers. If your old Dr Z cab was truly 8 ohms, and contained a Celestion blue and H30, you would have heard your Bandmaster pretty well as it should sound. If the above statement is true, then it could presently be wired to 4, 8, or 16ohms. I won't be offended if you explain to me like I'm a 10 year old, because that's about where I'm at. If that matters let me know and I'll find relevant details on the new transformer.īe warned, I really struggle to get my head around electrical issues, i.e., ohms, and such. I was hoping to try it out with a variety of different 2x12 cabs, but a couple of the staff members started doing some research and presented me with the following conclusions: ![]() Today, I took the Fender BM head to Long & McQuade (Canada's equivalent to Guitar Center). I ended up selling the cab to raise money for some other new gear (Swart AST) but I kept the head.įast forward to present, I've decided I want another cab to run the Band Master through (I miss my Fender clean tones).
